Many persons start following office fashion simply because they want to play it safe. They feel scared about the possibility of losing a promotion simply because they do not dress well. Well, adopting such an approach can lead to ridiculous consequences. What if your boss likes to see you in a mini skirt? Does that mean you are going to wear it for a promotion?
It is important to create the right environment and atmosphere when you are at work. It is dependent on your mood and also the mindset of your colleagues. A group of individuals who are neatly dressed and carry themselves well will look focused, determined and confident.
On the other hand, a group of individuals who are slouching and have no sense of fashion would probably not be trusted to do a job properly. Of course, there are those who qualify as experts and geniuses and do not follow these rules. Well, society has a lenient approach towards such individuals but membership is very limited. More often than not, you are required to follow the rules of basic fashion. Your fashion sense may have a huge impact on the mindset of those people around you.
Further, there is also an important question of comfort. The six to eight hours that you spend in your office are your most productive hours. In such a scenario, not wearing something that you are comfortable is only going to affect your productivity negatively. This is not to say that wearing fashionable clothes will make you super efficient. However, it will help you enjoy work better and that is very important to do a good job.
